JACK POT - NOK 100 000

The first runner to break the limit of 1 hour (1h 13 min for women) in the track from Sveen to Storehesten, wins the Jackpot-prize of NOK 100 000. The prize is sponsored by Sparebanken Sogn og Fjordane and Firda Media.

The records so far are 1.04.24 for men (John M. Sompol 2009) and 1.20.32 for women (Anita Håkenstad Evertsen 2008).

FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO REPAIR PARTS OF THE TRACK TO STOREHESTEN

We are pleased to report that we have recieved funding from Sparebankstiftelsen Sogn og Fjordane and Gaularfondet to repair parts of the track to Storehesten. The work is planned to start in May 2011 and will make the path better already in this years race.

Gaular IL and the arrangement committee welcome everybody to next year’s arrangement.

The planning has already started. We will give you more details about the race early in 2011. In 2010 nearly 1.300 persons participated.

Welcome to StorehestenOpp in Bygstad,

Gaular IL and the arrangement committee welcome everybody to this year’s arrangement.

As previous years there will be an open class for those who just like to keep fit and enjoy the trip to the top. This one starts at Stølshaugane (map). For those who want to compete, the start will be at Sveen ( by the fjord)

New this year is a “keep-fit” competition class. This group also starts at Stølshaugane (at the end of the forest road) and ends at the top of the mountain. You`ll find more information on this link

The registration has already started, so there is no reason for postponing your registration. Maybe you`ve got a neighbour you`ll give a challenge? For registration, go to this link.
